Strengthening our communities by enhancing the human experience.
About
Each year, the HKS Design Fellowship brings together our brightest design minded talent from all over the world and pairs them with students to work on a specific design problem during a 3-day Charrette. The HKS DF partners with a not-for-profit organization in the community who is the focus of the Charrette and the project for that year’s fellowship.
Our goal is to cultivate emerging design talent, excite and stimulate new ideas, and deepen our design philosophy across all of our offices in an effort to continue to raise the quality of design at HKS for our clients and our communities. Going beyond an isolated design exercise, the Charrette seeks participation from key community stakeholders. The product of each year’s event is a deliverable that may be used to help further the issue being addressed.
Regional offices of HKS have started their own local design fellowships, modeling them after the company-wide and world-wide HKS Design Fellowship hosted at HKS Headquarters in Dallas. Each regional HKS DF promotes design while building relationships with their communities and working to address issues their local communities face.
