Dan Noble has been named 2012 president of the American Institute of Architects’ Academy of Architecture for Health (AAH).
The stated mission of the AIA/AAH is to improve both the quality of healthcare design and the design of healthy communities by developing, documenting and disseminating knowledge; educating design practitioners and other related constituencies; advancing the practice of architecture; and affiliating and advocating with others that share these priorities.
Noble, who serves as executive vice president and director of design for HKS, Inc., is a widely recognized international leader in the practice of architecture; a sought-after planner, educator and practitioner both nationally and internationally; and a thought leader on conceptual design, collaborative team building, evidence-based research and the design of healing environments.
Noble has been active in the practice of healthcare architecture for three decades, collaborating with nationally and internationally prominent architectural, research and healthcare consulting firms. He has been responsible for more than 125 projects totaling 50 million square feet, 10,000 beds and more than $6 billion worth of construction cost – working with some of the world’s most prestigious clients such as Emory Health, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Hadassah Medical Center of Jerusalem, University of Miami and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
